Unfortunately cacao is not allowed on the Candida diet (I of course waited until after I had consumed three of these to reluctantly look it up).
They are super tasty, very filling (lotsa good fat!), and gluten free, refined sugar free, and dairy free.
I combined a couple of paleo cookie recipes and decided to add some cacao powder (the best part!):
1 1/2 cups unsweetened shredded coconut
1/2 cup raw almond butter (or any other nut butter)
1/2 cup coconut oil
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/4-ish cup raw cacao powder
Combine all the ingredients together in a bowl and mix!
Roll into 1″-2″ balls, place on a plate and put in the freezer or fridge for a few minutes until hardened.
